Our project aims to help you reconnect with your local environment, both at home and in your daily lives and to introduce new ways to think about your health. We passionately believe that what you eat and feed to your family is enormously important to your health and well-being. Eating well, and particularly growing your own food, keeps you fit and healthy, saves you money and offers a great way to enjoy time outside with your family and friends.

Our fabulous team Felicia, Ruth, Eleanor and Jade will be on hand at Twicknenham School to help you learn new skills, including growing your own fruit and vegetables, how to plan and prepare food for your family, and children from the school will learn how to run a small business.

Felicia, our lead gardener, will be running “grow your own” workshops throughout the year in our beautiful new community garden based at the school. There will also be regular after school sessions so that your children can join the fun. Felicia will be on hand every week to offer advice and help. You will be welcome to come and help care for our crops and enjoy time outdoors. You can train as an “expert volunteer” to help others, and if you already have skills and experience we need your help to spread the word.

Ruth, our community gardener, will be on hand to help you .grow your own. at home, offering advice and help on how to make your own garden a living pantry. There are lots of ways for you to join in. Are you are a keen grower already? Have you never planted anything but want to learn? Do you have a garden but no time or time but no garden? Would you like to volunteer in the community? Whatever your situation we would love you to get involved.

Eleanor, our social enterprise expert, will be working with older children from the school to set up and run a local food business. Using produce from our gardens and other local producers and suppliers, the team will be running a twice weekly market stall, where delicious quality produce will be available at very affordable prices. Eleanor will be on hand to teach about setting up a healthy store cupboard, so that, with a little imagination, you can produce simple healthy meals, quickly and cheaply and save on trips to the take-away.

And to cap it all, we are delighted to have a fantastic new community kitchen where our head chef will be giving cooking demonstrations and where you will have the chance to try out new recipes and impress your family and friends!
